XIL is an electronic artist. XIL refers to a state of exile: born into alienation, strangeness as a universal, binding concept. XIL is deafness to common sense. XIL is fields of unmeaning, unmaking and unmasking.

XIL explores the darker elements of club music while searching for the key to a spiritual revolution by overcoming sonic boundaries.

XIL is best known for the collaboration HYENAZ with the performance artist Mad Kate. HYENAZ is an esoteric, electronic music project, based on experimentation in movement, sound design and vocalisation. The pair hvae toured their second album “Critical Magic” extensively to galleries, performances spaces, festivals and clubs across Europe, North America and Asia, including Berlin’s famed Berghain, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, Korea and Sled Island Festival in Calgary, Canada. Electro superstar Peaches has called the band “an electronic monster duo”.

In 2017 HYENAZ provided sound design for the Yony Leyser documentary “Queercore” (Totho Films/ARTE) and was a performer and sound artist in Prix de Rome winning artist Rana Hamadeh’s Prix Ten Murders of Josephine, produced by Witte de With Gallery and Theater Rotterdam Schouwburg.

XIL has produced the work of V,  and Mary Ocher and has remixed AUTIST, Kala and Sister Mantos.
